Louis is a fifth generation Texan from Fredericksburg. Education was at Trinity University in San Antonio and Yale School of Drama class of ‘72. After a decade of theatre, he started a photography career that has been primarily interested in architectural restoration. This work has included UNESCO sites in Texas, Liberty Island NY, Mexico and Romania where he documented Eastern European folk art culture.

In the last decades, his interest shifted to ecological sensitive areas of the hill country of Texas and most recently the explosion of vineyard farming.
